A MESSAGE FROM THE CONFERENCE CHAIRPERSON

On behalf of the Women’s Commission of SWLA, Inc., I would like to invite you to our 28th Annual Conference October 18, 2018 at the Lake Charles Civic Center in downtown Lake Charles, LA.

We are excited to have Award-winning journalistTamron Hall as our keynote speaker.  This Lubbock, Texas native quickly rose from local networks in Fort Worth and Chicago to the national news scene in 2007 when she joined NBC and MSNBC.  Her talent has been recognized with several Emmy nominations and the Edward R. Murrow 2015 Award for Reporting:  Hard News in Network Television for her segment on domestic violence.

Tamron is passionate about initiatives and charitable organizations that strive to end homelessness, illiteracy and domestic abuse.  Touched personally by the loss of her sister, Renate, to domestic violence, Tamron recently launched the Tamron Renate Fund with Safe Harbor in honor of her sister to help victims and families affected by domestic violence.

And in the spirit of Louisiana Mardi Gras, Tamron served as the 2017 Honorary Muse in the New Orleans Krewe of Muses Parade.
